Felting Vessel
Wet felting is one of the oldest textile processes, using moisture, heat, and agitation to bind wool fibers into solid form. In this workshop, participants will create a seamless hollow vessel using resist techniques.
Students will learn fiber layout, layering methods, shrinkage control, and shaping strategies that transform loose wool into structured form. The process highlights how pressure, repetition, and friction generate strength and stability.
Participants will leave with a finished felt vessel and the foundational knowledge needed to continue exploring sculptural felt work.
All materials are provided. Open to all skill levels.
Pine Needle Baskets
Pine needle basketry is a traditional coiling practice found across many cultures, using gathered natural materials to create strong, functional forms. In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to prepare pine needles, begin a coiled base, and use stitching techniques to shape a finished basket.
Instruction focuses on tension control, consistent stitching, and structural integrity while allowing room for individual design decisions. Participants will learn how form develops through incremental growth and how small variations in stitch pattern and shaping create distinct results.
The class emphasizes patience, rhythm, and material awareness. Each participant will leave with a completed basket and the foundational skills needed to continue working independently.
All materials are provided. This workshop is suitable for beginners and experienced makers alike.
